velvet christmas elves

Sarah and I opted for velvet dresses for a christmas meet up the other night. I am overwhelmed but in love with velvet. Even though I know it will become very popular, it is just gorgeous. The cardi is much brighter than these photos give justice to and is a gorgeous teal, black and gold combination. It feels like a Chanel inspired jacket due to the neckline, length, sleeves and seaming. Along the seams are metal beads which I also love. Makes me cry for a Chanel jacket! But my student alternative is from Topshop at £40. The dress is Chelsea Girl, last year. The belt is a recent vintage buy. I love all these materials together- leather, wool and velvet- what a lush combination. My friend's beautiful dress is New Look. It's a gorgeous skater dress with 3/4 length sleeves in a dark blue.
